The Story Behind Homegrown Phoenix
Homegrown Phoenix was born over a bottle of wine in the kitchen of a 1920s bungalow in the Coronado Historic Neighborhood. Laura and Laura were chatting about their love of their community and how proud they are to be raising their children in this unique city. A few glasses later and the beginnings of Homegrown PHX were sprouted.
As they talked, both women found themselves drawn to the saying "bloom where you are planted" and were struck by how strongly they related to this idea. Once that seed was planted, the concept of the heart shaped prickly pear cactus, Homegrown PHX's signature, grew quickly. All Homegrown PHX apparel contains this image in some capacity as it is at the heart of what they believe.
Laura and Laura are over the moon to have made this dream a reality and hope that you find as much joy in your community as they do! Welcome to Homegrown PHX and remember to LIVE LOCAL!
Meet the Makers
Laura is originally from New England, but has been calling central Phoenix home for more than a decade. Married to a Phoenix native, she is proud to call her twin daughters Homegrown in Phoenix! In her spare time she loves crafting, baking, and Netlfix.
Favorite Coffee Shop: Even though I have 3 year old twins I’m not a coffee drinker! I am, however, addicted to the green tea at Duck and Decanter.
Favorite Thing About PHX: The way such a big city feels like a small town.
Guilty Pleasure: Food-based reality competition shows. I’m pretty cool, I know.
From Memphis Tennessee Laura brings her Southern flair to the Southwest. Happily married to her husband Alex for 7 years. Laura spends her free time shopping, sipping, and chasing her 2 year old toddler Henry.
Favorite Coffee Shop: Copper Star. Everything about that place makes me smile.
Favorite Thing About PHX: The fact that no one is really from here. It's a giant melting pot.
Guilty Pleasure: Can we not list all the guilty pleasures I indulge in?
